Trying a larger image format
I've been unhappy with the 600 pixel width I've been using for the images here and am now going to try using a width of 700 pixels, a little narrower than the header image (now removed).
Also I want to tighten up the page headers to get the whole image displayed above the fold. I think that would make much better looking page.

Brown had in his camp a fine-looking Negro, who said he had run away from his master in Platte County, Missouri, because the man was going to sell him and his wife to a dealer who would take them south to the Louisiana sugar plantations. The average Missouri Negro looked upon being sold south as one or two degrees worse than being sent straight to hell.
