Had the good fortune to attend an impromptu stargazing event at the park's observatory last night hosted by the resident enthusiast. Had the misfortune to have it attended by a party with a hacking cough who shared the eyepiece with us all.

Today I moved back to LoWs for a week of boondocking to pick up my mail (including a certain eagerly-awaited, hot-off-the-presses, brand new ,whizzbang, tech gadget I had shipped here :-) and to regroup for the next adventure, wherever that takes me.

Concentrated Space Intensifies Everything
A small, concentrated domestic space intensifies everything. It’s like the fire we live around—move it close together and the flame flares up, spread it apart and the fire goes out. We have always lived in small houses, but this one is the smallest and the best. Here I feel all my loose and wandering thoughts are gathered up and made whole. It is an antidote to a world of distractions. It is a world unto itself. It is almost more myself than I am.’
