Organ Mountains from Leasburg Dam State Park, Radium Springs NM, January 22, 2009
Where have I gone?
Nowhere - I'm still here at Leasburg Dam State Park on my favorite site. this site has no electric hookups so I've been struggling with power management. The two solar panels I'm using to supply power are having a hard time keeping up at this time of year and I'm not using my laptop, by far my largest power hog, a great deal. So I haven't been editing pictures and by extension haven't been updating these pages. All is well and I'll get back here soon, once I get a couple of projects behind me. Really. I will {grin}.
It's a dusty sunrise
Beautiful. There's just enough dust in the air and a few wispy clouds this morning to create the illumination you see in that old pic above. Wow! Maybe I should have gotten out a bit before the sun popped over the mountains to take a few shots. Ah well...

First Find What's Truly Significant
Zen Students and photographers have much in common. Both are acutely visionary, concerned with the practicalities of light and darkness, perception and clarity. The pursuit of either of these practices demands that those involved first find what's truly significant in their lives before they can ever hope to turn this significance into something that can be seen by others.
